Freedom of Information
From 11 November 2019, the Association will be classified as a public authority under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. The Association will also be subject to the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004.
The Freedom of Information legislation will place the following duties on the Association:
- A duty to respond to requests for information.
- A duty to publish information.
- A duty to offer advice and assistance to those requesting information.
From 11 November 2019 the Association will implement its Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Policy. The proposed Policy which is due for consideration by the Management Committee at its meeting on 29 October 2019 can be viewed here.
