Yoker Housing Association Limited is a community-based housing association, Registered Charity No. SC036604 and Registered Social Landlord.  Formed in 1979, the Association operates in the Yoker area to the west of the City of Glasgow.  The Association currently owns six hundred and forty-two properties and manages a further two hundred and seventy-six properties on behalf of other owners.

The Association’s continued success as one of the best performing Registered Social Landlords in Scotland has been built upon the foundations of a largely locally based governing body supported by an excellent staff base.  As part of our on-going planning for the future, we now seek to strengthen that staff base with the addition of the post referred to below.  The posts will be offered on a three-year fixed term contract basis with the option of part-time study for a Diploma in Housing Studies through day release in years two and three.  There will also be the possibility of a permanent contract and career advancement following the completion of the initial three-year training period.

TRAINEE HOUSING SERVICES OFFICER

£19,936 p.a.  (3 Year Fixed Term Contract)

As a trainee housing services officer you will be given training and responsibility for a wide range of duties within the Association’s housing management and property services departments. You will develop skills in housing management, estate management, property management and maintenance through practical work experience.

Successful candidates will be required to demonstrate good numeracy, literacy and communication skills, whether achieved at school, in higher education, in further education or through work experience.  You will develop your communication skills to deal efficiently and effectively with enquiries from a wide range of customers.  Previous experience of working in housing is not required as full training will be provided.

The Association offers excellent terms and conditions of employment including a final salary pension scheme, twenty-five days annual leave and fifteen days public holidays.
